Concrete care overview.

At Unique Cement we acknowledge our customer’s home improvement projects and goals, that’s why we always recommend applying a coat of concrete sealer or protectant to your freshly poured plain concrete surface. When the proper commercial grade sealants are used it will ensure longevity and protect the surface from stains, Michigan’s harsh weather conditions- such as salt from our winter season’s, all while curing the concrete to its max potential. Replacing the concrete around your home is a major transformation and with the increasing cost of concrete, we look at the sealing process as cheap insurance to extend the life of your project. Unique Cement has been working with the industry’s best sealers and is happy to provide our customers with this information at no extra charge. Listed below is a list of sealers we recommend along with the application guide and tips to help you get the job done right!

Plain Concrete Sealer- ChemMaster – “Silencure”, this is a silane solvent-based sealer which means when applied to a broomed concrete surface, it does not alter the look or color of your freshly placed concrete. Refer to www.Chemmasters.net for datasheet and installation guide

Sealer Availability: (Boomer Construction Materials) is a ChemMaster product vendor and carries this sealer generally in stock, Contact them today at their Macomb, MI location at 586-935-4005 or Detroit, MI location at 313-832-5050, They would be more than happy to help guide you in the right direction!

Application: First and for-most it is very important the concrete is fully dry, not damp, 100% dry and allow enough time after installation for the sealer to dry properly before applying water to its surface. Apply sealant thin, as it doesn’t take much to work its magic, also using a 3/8 nap roller and work in small areas…. At Unique Cement we have found that following your saw-cut patterns as a guide helps ensure you get every inch of your project while making sure it’s not over-applied.

Stamped Concrete Care.

Stamped concrete requires a fresh coat of sealer every 2-3 years to keep your project looking new while protecting the colors that produce the finish. Unique Cement works with industry-leading products to ensure your project will last for decades to come. The concrete around your home is one of the biggest investments to you as a homeowner, and we want your home to be the envy of your neighborhood by maintaining a maintenance schedule that keeps the project looking new at all times.
